Silicon Graphics GDM-20E21 blink orange light

Hi all, this is my first post, so I apologize for my English, I'm from Argentina and only fluent in Spanish, in fact I now use a translator, I hope you can understand.

My problem is this. When I turn the monitor light turns green and then a few seconds off, then stays on and blinking orange. but never shows picture or osd. When I open it I find that the filament lights, but I have no shine, and I think that's why he protects it. About G2 I have only 2 volts, the same happens if I disconnect trc plate.

i do not have information about it and I have no manual. Someone can help me or give me a clue?

Thank you very much

Greetings!
I had an SGI (really a Sony trinitron) monitor that did this. Im my case it was caused by anode overvoltage - too many volts on the anode and you start to get X-rays. The monitor has a circuit to detect this and shut down. But I think the flashing error light can mean one of many things - there is a PC program that will help diagnose this, but I can't think of the name right now.
hi, thanks for the reply, the truth is that I am dedicated to making television service, and some other monitor, but this particular model not met him completely and not know where to start, actually wanted to ask another question, it is possible connect this monitor with my pc? or are manufactured for a specific type of computer? I have a standard PC but am not sure if it is possible to use it, I have no user manual or technical information. Could you tell me where I can find information about it?.

Thank you very much for the information.

Greetings!
There is a program called WINDAS available that can be used to adjust sony monitors. I don't know if it will work with an E21 or to adjust anode voltage. I know it works on some later models to adjust grid/screen/focus voltages, etc. There are cables available on ebay for about $20 usd to connect the header to a PC serial port (and rs323 to TTL conversion)

There might be a pot somewhere to adjust it, if it is the anode voltage. I haven't mucked with a CRT in a couple years, unfortunately.
Just grab your dick then point and click.
hmm, as far as I recall, the 20E21 I had blinked orange when it was on but didn't have (=detect) a signal. I'm sure you've made sure of that of course. These do have a HD15 connector as well as a 13W3 (I don't remember, but it says so here ) so connecting it to your PC should work just fine if they haven't removed all analog outputs yet.

N.B.: I tend to talk out of my ass. Do not take it too seriously.
Hello friends after long time of testing, I replace the IC CXA1907 hoping that it would work, but it did not work, I still get the same level of brightness, my question also is whether the signal cable HD15, is standard? I did tests with a cable from a Samsung LCD monitor. Or maybe it needs some special cable? I do not know if the monitor without wires attached shows some kind of image or legend, and I never had one in my possession, I need to know if you can continue to help me locate the fault, which would give me much pain rule out this device.
With respect to the plate to calibrate, yet did not because the software does not bring reviewing this model and I'm not sure if it works, there is some possibility of reprogramming the eeprom in the traditional way? anyone have the dump for me?

Thank you very much
