I'm searching for a rendering-project i can start to show the power of the system. I tried yesterday the homebrew slow spheres and I was able to start that animation. The problem is, that i can't use it for demonstration purposes.

Do you guys can give me a hint, if there is any rendering project for a live-demonstration i can use?
There is a whole bunch of demo programs written for SGIs. Why not to try them?

Good idea, but where can i obtain such software?
They appear on ebay from time to time. Or you can PM me.
