Duo 2300c

Chance eBay find. Battery even holds a charge, for all of thirty seconds, but it does. A little poky, but does well in 8.1, and came with RAMDoubler (almost required for any of the older Macs restricted to less than 128MB RAM). As you can see, compares in size well to an iPad. :)

And if the iPad gets all uppity, the Duo can just sit on it.
smit happens.

Nice find.
I had one years ago. Did the overclock to 120Mhz and installed the GV modem. Had the minidock and 40MB RAM -could never find the upgrade to 56MB at a decent price. Too bad I sold it later.
Have you switched the HD to a CF (SLC) card?
I remember the 2300C had both IDE and SCSI connectors for an internal HD, but IDE was chosen by Apple. The result was a slower drive but that allowed for size upgrade (haven't seen 2.5in SCSI drives over 1.2GB -not counting SCA or SAS).

I later found the 2400c I now have. I'm tempted to change the HD to a CF, but wouldn't want to turn the PowerBook on after the switch and find the infamous GLOD.
Sitting in a room.....thinkin' shit up.

No, I haven't, not on this one. I'm toying with doing it on my 1400, which has PCMCIA slots, so I could reverse it later (the 1400 is a lot easier to work on, too).
