O2+ problem with opening DVDROM

I have noticed a strange behaviour of my DVDROM - I cannot eject it anymore, clicking on Eject. It opens on system re-boot or restart but from the system (6.5.13) it does not anymore.
Any suggestions what has happened and how can i fix it?

Thanks for help,
M.
hum interesting, does it open from clicking the little button on the front?
you could try to reset your enviroment "env" from the command promt mini root upon boot up.
If you may have added or removed any devices on your scsi chain it may have gotten the id number confused and cannot find the dvd device anymore.

A common point of failure in O2 CD/DVD drives is a small plastic gear inside, it will crack from too much stress and cause similar behaviour to what you're seeing.
It's easy to fix, though. Simply remove the drive from the O2, open it, locate the broken gear, remove it, glue it together, and put it back in.
